To whomever it may concern,
My name is Mai Son, and I am currently a sophomore student at Forest Park High School. Growing up with parents full of expectation, I've always been focused on school and work. With their encouragement, I was motivated to exceed in everything I did. Since elementary school, I have been enrolled in honor and gifted courses and in other honor programs such as SCORE and Beta Club. I've also maintained straight A's throughout all my school years. The qualities I possess that set myself apart from others are my creativity, patience, intelligence, and determination. I am an independent, reliable, and hardworking individual. My motto is to work hard and never give up because it will pay off.
I have a deep passion for art, whether it be drawing, crafting, or decorating. I have taken interest in two different art careers: interior design/decoration and fine arts. I definitely intend on striving for both, because I want more than one option, in case the other doesn't work out, although I plan on getting a major in interior design first. I plan on accomplishing this by getting into an exceptional art college that will help me to quickly acquire the skills I need to pursue my dreams. I've already taken a step by taking Fundamentals of Design, the first of the art classes. I plan on taking AP Art next year and my senior year. I also plan on enrolling in the Art Instruction Schools, a program that will allow me to earn my college credits for art, while at home and learning at my own pace.
The section that I find most reflective in this portfolio is this introduction letter. While writing it, I've reflected upon my skills, qualities, achievements, and future plans. The skills and qualities I have will contribute to my career and future. My creativity and patience help me with art because a good art work requires originality and time. My intelligence and determination will take me far in my career because being able to learn quickly will help me become an artist or designer faster, and being persistent and strong minded will help me rise up from my mistakes and troop on during struggles.
I believe I have remarkable potential in the world of arts, and I will give my fullest and best effort to achieve my goals. Thank you for taking your time to read this letter.
Sincerely,
Mai Son
